Bihar Hospital Tragedy: 10 Killed, Over 20 Rescued After Massive Fire Erupts in Muzaffarpur ICU (X)
Muzaffarpur: Just a day after deadly fire in Delhi's Malviya Nagar hotel, another massive fire incident has been reported from Muzaffarpur district in Bihar. In the early hours of Thursday, at least 10 people were reportedly killed, and more than 20 patients were injured in a major fire at Prasad Hospital.
The blaze erupted in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) on the fifth floor of the Prasad Hospital, which is located in the Muzaffarpur district of Bihar.
According to the fire department, they received an emergency call at 3:55 am and a team was rushed to the scene. Around 20 people were evacuated from the ICU, and the remaining patients have been admitted to nearby hospitals.
Some of the rescued patients, according to officials, are in a critical condition, and they worry the death toll could climb higher as assessments keep going.
According to initial reports, the blaze might have started due to a short circuit, but officials have not yet pinned down the full circumstances.
District Magistrate Subrat Kumar Sen said that the 10 victims who lost their lives in the fire have been shifted to hospital and the status, and whereabouts of everyone admitted during the fire are still being checked.

The Civil Surgeon has also arrived at the spot to oversee relief work, as well as medical assistance.
The fire incident has sparked outrage among relatives of patients, some of whom have accused the hospital administration of negligence. Family members said the hospital employees left the building during the crisis.
