Anant Singh Expelled from JDU, Supporters Burst Crackers in Mokama as Another Leader Faces Action
New Delhi: Before the Legislative Council elections in Bihar, Janata Dal United (JDU) has taken a strict stand against anti-party activities. The party first expelled strongman leader Anant Singh for six years and now has also canceled the primary membership of young JDU state secretary Amit Prakash. Due to these continuous actions, the turmoil in the politics of Bihar has intensified.
This step has been taken by the party at a time when the rhetoric and campaign activities of the leaders are being monitored in the election environment. Amit Prakash has been accused of working against the official candidate of the party and campaigning in support of the candidate of another party.
According to the action taken by Youth JDU State President Nitish Patel, Amit Prakash has been expelled from the organization due to anti-party activities. The party says he worked against the NDA-backed JDU candidate from Patna graduates constituency and campaigned in favor of the other party's candidate.
As per the instructions issued by JDU, his primary membership has been canceled with immediate effect. The party leadership believes that it is necessary to follow the instructions of the organisation during elections and activities against the official candidate come under the ambit of indiscipline.
Before Amit Prakash, JDU had also taken strict action against its famous leader Anant Singh. The party expelled him for six years. Anant Singh was accused of campaigning against the party's official candidate Neeraj Kumar in the Legislative Council elections and making statements against the party leadership.
The resentment of the party leadership was continuously increasing. After this the organization decided to take action. After the expulsion of Anant Singh, his supporters expressed their reaction by bursting fireworks outside his residence, while there was no immediate public reaction from Anant Singh.
The action taken against two consecutive leaders indicates that JDU wants to be strict regarding party discipline during the elections. Especially at a time when campaigning and organisational mobilisation in support of candidates are an important part of election strategy.
However, what impact these actions will have on the upcoming electoral equations will become clear in the coming days. At present, the decisions of JDU have started a new discussion in the politics of Bihar.
