Samrat Choudhary Transfers Social Security Pension To One Crore Beneficiaries, Issues Key Directive

Patna: Taking a big step for the beneficiaries of the Social Security Pension Scheme, the Bihar government has directly transferred an amount of Rs 1,423.94 crore into the bank accounts of 97.84 lakh people. Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary sent this amount to the accounts of the beneficiaries through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). The government has also announced to celebrate the 10th of every month as 'Bihar Pension Day' to make the process of pension distribution more regular and transparent.

Who will get the benefit of social security pension?

The objective of the Social Security Pension Scheme is to provide financial assistance to the people of the state who need government help for regular income. This includes eligible beneficiaries of different categories including elderly, widows and disabled people. With the government sending the amount directly to the bank account, the beneficiaries will have less need to visit government offices for payment.

Why was the amount sent through DBT?

The government has used the DBT system to transfer the pension amount directly to the bank accounts.
