Ex-Bihar CM Rabri Devi Begins Vacating Patna Bungalow As Eviction Deadline Ends Today (X)

Patna: Former Bihar chief minister Rabri Devi has begun vacating her bungalow at 10 Circular Road, as the deadline for vacating the government bungalow at 10 Circular Road, a political hub in Bihar, expires today. Following a tough stance by the Building Construction Department, the process of removing belongings from this VVIP residence has intensified since late Sunday evening.

Where will Rabri Devi shift?

Former Chief Minister Rabri Devi's new government bungalow is currently uninhabitable, leaving the family in limbo over the fate of Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi. It is believed that the family may temporarily move into Leader of the Opposition Tejashwi Yadav's government residence at 1 Polo Road.

According to the department, several previous letters were sent to vacate the residence. Now, if the residence is not vacated within the stipulated timeframe, even after the final notice, action is possible under the Bihar Government Premises Act.

When did the shifting started?

The 10 Circular Road bungalow became bustling with activity as early as Sunday night, and packing began. Several government and private equipment, including CCTV cameras installed for security, have been removed. It remains to be seen whether the Lalu family will completely vacate the bungalow today or whether the administration will have to take legal action under the Bihar Government Premises Act.

The Building Construction Department had previously sent four notices to the Lalu family to vacate this bungalow. Subsequently, a final notice was issued on June 22, giving a strict seven-day ultimatum, which expires today. The department has made it clear that strict action will be taken as per the rules after the deadline expires.

The Bihar government has already allotted this famous 10 Circular Road residence to Cabinet Minister Nand Kishore Ram. Due to Rabri Devi not vacating the bungalow, the new allottee has not been able to take possession of it.
