Patna Coaching Firing Case: Khan Sir Will Not Surrender, To Seek Anticipatory Bail On June 8, Says Lawyer (X)

Patna: A new update has emerged in the case of firing at the coaching centre of Faisal Khan alias 'Khan Sir'. The lawyer, who is representing educator, on Saturday said that his client will move an anticipatory bail application before a Patna civil court after being named in an FIR linked to vandalism at his coaching institute.

What did the lawyer say?

Advocate Arvind Kumar Mahuar claimed the case against Khan Sir was lodged as "part of a conspiracy to defame him". The legal team will file for bail on Monday.

"The time to file an anticipatory bail plea in court ended on Saturday. We will file it on Monday," the lawyer added.

“Khan Sir has been named in the FIR as part of a retaliatory measure because his staff had registered a case against another coaching centre’s director. He will not surrender and file an anticipatory bail petition before the court," Mahuar said.

"Based on videos and photos of the incident, it is clear that the guards fired shots in the air for safety purposes. There was no injury to anyone. His name has been inserted in the disclosure statement to implicate him," the lawyer said.

What were earlier reports?

Earlier, there were reports that Khan Sir had reached the Patna Civil Court to surrender. According to reports, Arvind Kumar Mahuar said that Khan Sir will seek anticipatory bail on Monday.

He said, "When there is a way for anticipatory bail, a petition will be filed. In such a situation, why would Khan Sir surrender? The police will have to obtain a warrant from the court to arrest him. Khan Sir has played no role in this matter."

What did the police say?

During the investigation, police identified Roshan Anand, who operates a coaching institute named Gyan Bindu, as the main accused in the vandalism case. He was subsequently arrested and sent to jail.

Authorities are now examining the role of all individuals involved in the clash and the events that led to the violence.

Patna Senior Superintendent of Police Kartikeya Sharma confirmed that Khan Sir's name has been included in the FIR registered in connection with the case and have already questioned the educator as part of the ongoing investigation.
