Adani Energy Solutions Ltd (AESL), part of the Adani Group, announced on Thursday that its profit after tax (PAT) rose by 71% year-on-year to ₹539 crore for the April–June quarter of the 2025–26 financial year.

The company said this strong profit growth was due to a sharp rise in EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization), along with lower depreciation and reduced tax expenses compared to last year.

Revenue, Projects and Smart Meter Expansion Boost Performance

AESL, one of India’s largest private companies in the power transmission and distribution sector, said its total income increased by 28% to ₹7,026 crore in the same quarter. This was supported by steady operational performance, higher capital expenditure under service concession agreements (SCA), and growing business from smart meters.

The company’s EBITDA rose by 14% to an all-time high of ₹2,017 crore, driven by consistent performance in its core transmission and distribution areas and rising revenue from smart meter installations.

During this period, AESL completed three key transmission projects—Khavda Phase II Part A, Khavda Pooling Station – 1 (KPS-1), and the Sangod transmission line. Additionally, the company won a new project—the WRNES Talegaon transmission line. With this, the total value of its under-construction projects now stands at ₹59,304 crore.

AESL also increased its capital expenditure to ₹2,224 crore, compared to ₹1,313 crore in the same quarter of the previous year, marking a 1.7-times rise.

In the smart meter segment, the company installed 24 lakh new meters during the quarter, reaching a total of 55.4 lakh meters. It achieved a daily installation rate of 25,000 to 27,000 meters. AESL has set a goal to install 70 lakh meters in the current financial year, aiming to reach at least 1 crore meters by the end of FY26.

Looking Ahead: Big Pipeline and Growth Plans

AESL said it sees a strong opportunity ahead, with ₹90,000 crore worth of upcoming bids expected in the near future in the transmission space.

Commenting on the performance, Kandarp Patel, CEO of Adani Energy Solutions, said, “We’re proud to report a strong quarter. Our focus on good execution and operations has helped us keep up steady progress on project growth. Our performance is based on unlocking the full potential of our core businesses.”

He added, “We made good progress this quarter by completing three transmission lines and reaching top industry levels in smart meter rollouts. We plan to keep this momentum and finish ongoing projects on time. With the sector seeing strong demand, policy support, and changes in the energy mix, AESL is excited to take on more opportunities. We expect a major increase in spending and new projects starting from the second quarter as monsoon delays reduce.”
