New Delhi: Along with the prices of petrol and diesel in the country, people are also keeping an eye on the price of LPG cylinders. No new changes have been made in the prices of domestic and commercial LPG cylinders on October 10. The prices of 14.2 kg domestic gas cylinder and 19 kg commercial cylinders remain at the previous level.
There has been no change in the prices of domestic gas cylinders since June. At the same time, the price of commercial cylinders was last increased on October 1. At that time its price had increased by Rs 62.50. In such a situation, the cost of commercial gas for hotels, restaurants and other commercial establishments had increased.
Domestic LPG cylinders are used for cooking in most homes. Changes in its prices have a direct impact on the monthly budget of families. According to the currently available data, there has been no new change in the price of 14.2 kg domestic cylinder.
The price of domestic LPG cylinder in Delhi is said to be Rs 942. It is available in Mumbai for Rs 941.50 and in Kolkata for Rs 968. Whereas in Chennai its price has been recorded at Rs 957.50.
However, gas cylinder prices may vary in different cities due to local taxes and other factors. Consumers should confirm the latest price in their city before booking.
The prices of commercial LPG cylinders were increased on October 1. This 19 kg cylinder is used in hotels, dhabas, restaurants and other commercial establishments. The price increase may affect the operating costs of these businesses.
According to available data, the price of commercial cylinder in Delhi is Rs 2,810. Its price in Mumbai is said to be Rs 2,764.50, while in Kolkata it is said to be Rs 2,954. Its price in Hyderabad has reached Rs 3,065.
Amidst the fear of pressure on energy supply due to international circumstances and war, the Government of India had given instructions to increase LPG production domestically. According to available reports, the Central Government has set targets related to LPG production for oil refinery companies including Reliance.
The government's objective is to maintain the availability of gas in the country and minimize the impact of possible shortage. Along with keeping an eye on the supply of LPG, efforts are also being made to strengthen the distribution system.
According to the available information, under the new rules, a gap of 25 days has been fixed for the next booking of LPG cylinder. Earlier, information was given that there would be a gap of 45 days in rural areas.
