Petrol Diesel Price Update: Check Today’s Rates in Delhi, Mumbai, Noida, Gurugram and More (X)
New Delhi: There is no major change in the prices of petrol and diesel across the country today, 8 August 2026. Fuel prices remain stable in major cities. Despite fluctuations in the prices of crude oil in the international market, government oil companies have not changed the prices of domestic petrol and diesel at present. The current rates continue since the last major revision on May 25.
Meanwhile, in the international market, Brent crude fell for the third consecutive week and closed above 83 dollars per barrel. Crude oil prices are being affected by talks between America and Iran and the possibility of reopening the Strait of Hormuz.
Today the prices of petrol and diesel are stable in major cities of the country. In other big cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, customers are currently getting fuel at the old prices. Despite changes in international crude oil prices, its direct impact has not been visible in the domestic market.
On August 8, petrol in Delhi is Rs 102.12 per litre, and diesel is Rs 95.20 per litre. In Mumbai, petrol is being sold at Rs 111.21 and diesel at Rs 97.83 per litre.
At the same time, the price of petrol in Kolkata is Rs 113.50, and the price of diesel is Rs 99.82 per litre. Petrol in Chennai is Rs 107.77, and diesel is Rs 99.55 per litre.

There is a lot of stir in the crude oil market at present regarding the possible agreement between America and Iran. Especially the market is keeping an eye on the possibility of reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and the normalisation of movement of commercial ships from there.
Hopes in the oil market have increased due to news of progress in talks between Iran and Oman. According to US officials, the disrupted oil supply from Iran can resume if an agreement is reached between the two countries and commercial shipping is restored.
US President Donald Trump has also expressed hope regarding the talks. He says that the conflict can end soon and this can help in reducing fuel prices.
At present, the market is keeping an eye on the developments related to the Strait of Hormuz and US-Iran talks. These events may impact global crude oil prices and subsequently the domestic fuel market in the coming days.
