Delhi Metro Announces Special Diwali 2026 Timings: Pink, Magenta and Grey Lines to Start Early, Last Train at 10 PM (TNI)
New Delhi: Delhi Metro is all set to operate under a revised schedule this Diwali. As the festival of lights brings celebrations to homes, vibrant activity to markets, and increased traffic on roads, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has decided to introduce special changes to metro timings on Sunday, November 8, 2026. The revised schedule will provide relief to passengers in the morning, while commuters will need to plan their evening journeys carefully.
According to DMRC, the Pink, Magenta, and Grey Line services, which normally begin at 7 AM on Sundays, will start operating at 6 AM this time. Passengers on these three corridors will get metro services one hour earlier than usual. On the Pink Line, services will commence from Majlis Park and Shiv Vihar; on the Magenta Line, from Botanical Garden, Krishna Park Extension, Majlis Park, and Deepali Chowk; and on the Grey Line, from Dwarka, Kakrola, and Dhansa Bus Stand, as per the revised schedule.
In view of Diwali celebrations in the evening, a major change has been introduced. The last metro train on all lines, including the Airport Express Line, will depart from terminal stations at 10 PM instead of the usual 11 PM. Passengers will need to plan their journeys in advance to avoid inconvenience due to missing the last metro. DMRC Principal Executive Director (Corporate Communications) Anuj Dayal has advised commuters to check the updated timetable through the official website and social media platforms before travelling.
