CBSE Class 12 Result 2026: Avani Kejriwal Becomes National Topper After Re-Evaluation, Scoring A Perfect 500 Out Of 500

New Delhi: Avani Kejriwal has emerged as the national topper for the CBSE Class 12 board exams after the re-evaluation process. She achieved a perfect score of 500 out of 500 (100%) in the Commerce stream.

A student from Ranchi, Jharkhand scored 94 percent on her CBSE 12th exam. But, she thought she did better. She asked for her papers to be checked again. The second check gave her 100 percent. Her name is Avni Kejriwal and now is the national topper.

Why she applied for re-evaluation?

Avni took the exam in Commerce and the results came out May 13. She got 94 percent. Her family was happy but Avni wasn't satisfied. She knew she had done better work. So she applied for re-evaluation.

What Avni wanted?

The CBSE had changed how they mark papers this year. There were questions about the system. So they gave students the chance to request their papers be checked again. It happened in two steps. First, students had to ask for their answer sheets online. Then they could ask for their marks to be verified. The fees were also cheaper than before. Avni went through both the steps and wanted her papers checked properly.

On June 21, the results declared again. Over 87 percent of students got their new marks. Avni was one of them and her new score was 500 out of 500. No marks taken off in this evaluation. She went from 94 percent to 100 percent. Not just in Jharkhand but across the whole country.

What the Principal of her school had said?

The principal of her school, DPS Ranchi, Dr. Jaya Chauhan, gave her praise. "Avni's achievement of getting all 500 marks is a moment of great pride for our entire DPS Ranchi family," she said. "This is the result of her hard work and dedication. She has set an example for all our students. I hope she continues to reach new heights and inspires others to dream big and work hard to make those dreams real."
Dr. Chauhan added that Avni's success shows the culture of excellence the school promotes.
Many students asked for re-evaluation this year. Over 4 lakh applications came in. Students wanted to see over 11 lakh answer sheets. More than 1.6 lakh students asked to check 3.8 lakh answer books. Avni was one of many. But her result was the best.
She studied Commerce and her papers were checked twice. The second check found what she always believe. She had done perfect work and now everyone knows it too.
