Amitabh’s debut film Saat Hindustani did not perform well at the box office, but it left behind a memorable story. In an interview, Amitabh himself revealed that he had gone seven days without washing his face while filming. The movie was shot in Goa and had a very limited budget. One day, the makeup artist had to rush back to Mumbai for personal reasons. Before leaving, he told Amitabh, “Don’t wash your face until I return.”
The artist returned to the set after seven days and was completely shocked. Amitabh had followed his instructions exactly — he hadn’t washed his face all week. He continued shooting, eating, and sleeping with the same makeup on. Seeing his level of dedication, the makeup artist was amazed and told him, “Sir, you will go very far in your career.” And that prediction came true — Amitabh Bachchan went on to become one of the biggest and most respected stars in Indian cinema.
