President Droupadi Murmu on Friday organised an 'At Home' gathering at Rashtrapati Bhavan to mark the 79th Independence Day. The event saw the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Ministers, chiefs of the three defence forces, and foreign envoys. Anupam Kher expressed his joy at being invited and said he felt ‘honoured and blessed’.

Anupam Kher’s Words of Gratitude

On Instagram, Kher posted several pictures from the grand occasion and wrote, “Thank you Hon. President #DroupadiMurmu ji for inviting me to #RashtrapatiBhavan for the #AtHome function. I felt truly honoured and blessed! The ceremony was graceful and grand. I also had the chance to meet many respected personalities from different fields. Bahut bahut dhanyawad aur aabhar. Jai Hind.”

Jai Hind!” Speaking to ANI on Independence Day, Kher greeted Indians around the world, saying, “Vishwabhar mein reh rahe sabhi Bharatwasiyon ko swatantrata diwas ki shubhkamnaye (Happy Independence Day to all Indians across the globe). I pray our nation grows each day with strength and success. In these years, India has reached a place that makes every Indian feel proud.”

His Latest Film, ‘Tanvi The Great’

Recently, Kher has been enjoying the success of his latest movie, Tanvi The Great, which also marks his return as a director after more than 20 years. The film features Anupam Kher along with Shubhangi Dutt, Boman Irani, Karan Tacker, Jackie Shroff, Arvind Swami, Nasser, and British actor Iain Glen.

Global Appreciation for the Film

Produced under Anupam Kher Studios along with NFDC, Tanvi The Great has received praise both in India and abroad. The film was screened at Cannes and also in cities like New York, Houston, and London, gaining wide appreciation. The story follows a young girl living with her mother and grandfather, who, inspired by her late father, an army officer, dreams of joining the Indian Army herself.
