Videos circulating on the internet show certain audience members waving pro-Khalistan flags. According to reports, the singer-actor halted his concert in the middle of the performance during this incident. Responding to criticism received from his fellow Punjabis, he remarked, "My job is not to engage in charity work. However, on every platform I visit, I invariably speak about Punjab."
"We often lament that the national media does not speak enough about Punjab. I traveled everywhere for the sake of Punjab; I raised Punjab's issues on those platforms. Whenever the need arose, I have also donated generously to my state. In 2025, Diljit appeared on *KBC* and donated the entire sum he won to flood victims in Punjab.
Speaking about his recent appearance on Jimmy Fallon's show, 'The Tonight Show', he said, "I went to Jimmy Fallon's show specifically to speak about Punjab and the 'Guru Nanak Ship' incident. I did not go there to promote a film or a song. I went there to bring Punjab and its associated issues to the world's attention, so that the national media would also take notice. If you still have a problem with the fact that I sat across from someone on television... then go ahead and wave as many flags as you wish."

Diljit Dosanjh had them removed but there are three questions:
1. Why were they allowed to enter the arena in the first place?
2. What did Diljit mean by "Jedi jagah jedi kamm di aa othe use… pic.twitter.com/K2gPk8LFSn
In October 2025, Diljit appeared as a contestant on 'KBC 17' and touched the feet of the host, Amitabh Bachchan. Amitabh also lauded him as 'Punjab Da Puttar' (Son of Punjab) for his efforts in relief operations during the floods. According to reports, following the telecast of this episode, Diljit received threats from the group 'Sikhs for Justice' (SFJ), which is associated with the pro-Khalistan movement.
According to NDTV, SFJ leader Gurpatwant Singh Pannu alleged that by touching Amitabh's feet, Diljit had "insulted every victim, every widow, and every orphan of the 1984 Sikh massacre." The group claimed that on October 31, 1984, Amitabh had "publicly incited a mob with the slogan 'Blood for blood' (Khoon ka badla khoon)." In 1984, the veteran Bollywood actor had denied these allegations.
After the KBC episode aired, the SFJ threatened to disrupt Diljit's concerts. However, the singer-actor advocated for peace. He stated, "I will always speak of love. To me, this earth is one. My Guru says, 'Ik Onkar' (There is but One God). I was born on this earth, I received life from this very land, and one day I will return to this very soil. Therefore, from my side, there is only love for everyone—whether someone is jealous of me or trolls me. I will always continue to spread the message of love. I have always done so. I do not care how anyone feels about this."
Recently, on Jimmy Fallon's show, Diljit spoke about the 1914 Komagata Maru incident, during which Indians—including Sikhs, Hindus, and Muslims—were denied entry into Canada despite being British subjects.
