BAKWAAS...Picture Hai Woh?: Asaduddin Owaisi On Dhurandhar 2

Mumbai: 'Dhurandhar: The Revenge', which is directed by Aditya Dhar and Ranveer Singh' starrer has become a hot topic in the country's political circles. But Now the question is whether the film is liked or hated by people? 

Recently, Lok Sabha MP Asaduddin Owaisi called 'Dhurandhar 2' rubbish and said that the film promotes violence.

What did Owaisi say?

Lok Sabha MP and AIMIM president, Asaduddin Owaisi, openly criticised the film, calling it “bakwaas” and questioned its purpose.

The AIMIM president said that 'Dhurandhar 2' is a three hours of nonsense filled with curse and violence and also raised concerns about how Muslims are portrayed in the film.

“Picture hai vo? Teen ghante bakwaas. (Is that even a film? It’s three hours of nonsense).” He also added, “I don’t have the time to watch a film for three hours. I can only hope that people listen to me speak for one hour. What is even there in the film other than cuss words, promoting violence, and after three hours, it makes you wonder if you must cuss at Muslims or not. Who has the time to watch all this?” he said.

What is the collection?

'Dhurandhar 2' has collected over Rs 715 crore in India and more than Rs 1100 crore worldwide, making it one of the highest-grossing films of 2026.

The movie has even surpassed the lifetime collections of the popular Pushpa franchise. 

Within just nine days, it crossed Rs 850 crore gross in the country.

What is the film about?

The spy-action thriller, led by Ranveer Singh, R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, Rakesh Bedi, Sara Arjun, drew large crowds in the theatres.

Directed by Aditya Dhar, the franchise reveals the origin of Hamza Ali Mazari, aka Jaskirat Singh Rangi, which is played by Ranveer Singh, and also shows the backstory, while explaining the motivation. The film will explain the reason how Jaskirat turned into Hamza and will also reveal who is bade sahab.
