Guwahati: Union Home Minister Amit Shah is currently on 'Mission Assam'. After releasing a 'charge sheet' against the Mamata government in West Bengal, Amit Shah proceeded directly to Guwahati, Assam. Here, he held a massive roadshow that drew an overwhelming crowd of people. Shah appeared visibly delighted upon witnessing the massive crowds that had thronged the streets.
Talking to the media, Amit Shah made a bold claim, stating that this time around, the BJP is poised to win over 90 seats in Assam and form its government once again. He also made it clear that, following the elections, Himanta Biswa Sarma would once again assume the office of the state's Chief Minister.
Shah heaped lavish praise on the work accomplished by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. He remarked that Himanta has transformed Assam into the premier hub for education and healthcare services across the entire North-Eastern region. The people of the state are currently very happy, he noted, as they are now receiving clean drinking water at their doorsteps and uninterrupted 24-hour electricity supply. During this interaction, Shah also emphasized that the safety and security of women in Assam have now been completely ensured.
Speaking from the soil of Assam, Shah also launched a scathing attack on the politics of Bengal. He asserted that the people of West Bengal have grown completely fed up with the TMC government, and there is palpable anger brewing among the masses. Shah emphatically stated that just as infiltration has been completely halted in Assam, a BJP government in Bengal would similarly put a complete curb on infiltration the moment it assumes power.
It is worth noting that prior to this visit, during his tour of Bengal, Amit Shah had released a 'charge sheet' (or *Aarop Patra*) leveling allegations against the Mamata government. On that occasion, he categorically stated that this document was not merely a BJP publication, but rather the collective voice of the people of Bengal. According to him, the Mamata government has betrayed the very slogan of 'Maa, Maati, Maanush' (Mother, Soil, People) and, while dangling the dream of a 'Sonar Bangla' (Golden Bengal) before the public, has instead established a regime of 'Syndicate Raj.'
He declared that the battle in Bengal has now become a contest between 'fear and trust.' Citing statistics, Amit Shah highlighted that the BJP's vote share in Bengal has surged from 17% in 2014 to approximately 40% today—a clear indication that the people are yearning for change. In Bengal, Shah described infiltration as the greatest threat to national security. Launching a direct attack, he stated, "Mamata Didi, you have very little time left. You refused to provide land for fencing along the 600-kilometer border, but after the elections, we will put a stop to this ourselves."
He pledged that land for fencing would be made available within 45 days of the BJP government assuming power. Citing the R.G. Kar case, cattle smuggling, and the MGNREGA scam, he asserted in Bengal that the public is poised to elect a BJP government with an absolute majority this time in order to safeguard the state's identity.
