New Delhi: Hyderabad witnessed a troubling scene on Wednesday evening when actress Nidhhi Agerwal was surrounded and pushed by a large crowd after a promotional event for the upcoming film 'The Raja Saab'.

The song 'Sahana Sahana' was launched at Lulu Mall, drawing hundreds of fans. But as the event ended and Nidhhi tried to leave, the situation quickly turned chaotic.

Videos circulating online show the actress struggling to reach her car amid a sea of people. Security personnel tried to clear a path, but the crowd pressed in from all sides. At one point, she appeared visibly shaken before finally managing to get into her vehicle.

Why did the crowd surge happen?

The event attracted an unusually large turnout. Many fans rushed toward the venue hoping for photos and interactions. As the programme concluded, there was no smooth exit plan in place. People surged forward, breaching personal space and overwhelming the limited security on the ground. Several clips show attendees pushing forward, with some trying to get too close for selfies.

Did any public figures speak out?

Singer and activist Chinmayi Sripaada responded strongly to the incident on social media.

In a post, the singer condemned the crowd’s conduct, describing it as behaviour "worse than hyenas" and lamenting how a group of men could harass a woman in such a manner. Her remarks added to the broader debate about celebrity safety and crowd etiquette.

She also shared a video and wrote, "Pack of men behaving worse than hyenas. Actually why insult hyenas. Put ‘likeminded’ men together in a mob, they will harass a woman like this. Why doesnt some God take them all away and put them in a different planet?"

Were there injuries or official statements?

No serious injuries were reported from the incident. Neither Nidhhi nor the makers of 'The Raja Saab' have issued an official statement yet. But the event has sparked conversations about security arrangements and the responsibility of organisers to protect performers at public gatherings.

The film 'The Raja Saab', starring Prabhas alongside Nidhhi, is scheduled to release in early January 2026.
