Entertainment News: Girija Oak, who has made her mark in both Marathi and Hindi film industries, was recently a major topic of discussion on social media. Her pictures in a blue saree went viral, and people even compared her to Sydney Sweeney and Monica Bellucci. But amid this sudden fame, a disturbing and troubling side also emerged. Her AI-morphed obscene images began circulating online. Soon after, she started receiving extremely strange and harassing messages from several men.
At 37, Girija said the people who send filthy messages online are the same ones who cannot even make eye contact in real life. Behind a digital mask, they say anything. But when they meet face-to-face, they talk with love and respect. She said this double behaviour makes it hard to understand whom to take seriously and whom to ignore.
In her interview with Lallantop, Girija explained that after AI morphing, her fake obscene photos started circulating. Many people mocked her and used those images in the wrong way on social media. She clearly stated that creating such content without consent is not just unethical but also a serious threat to women’s safety.
The actress said this issue disturbed her even more because she has a 12-year-old son. She fears what he would think if he ever saw those images. She added that people know how to play the viral game and they take advantage of it. According to her, this is the biggest fear in the digital world today.
People praised her blue saree look, but some turned it into something sexual. She said such actions are taken merely for online attention without any purpose. As soon as the pictures started trending, she became a target of such messages.
Girija said strict laws should be enforced against this kind of morphing so that no one can dare to disrespect a woman’s dignity. She added that this destroys mental peace and such incidents must be immediately acted upon by authorities.
She said that in today’s virtual world, people hide their identity and say anything they want. But those same people change their attitude when they appear in person. Girija warned that if this technology is not used responsibly, it may become a danger for future generations.
