State-Level Tennis Player Radhika Yadav Shot Dead by Father in Gurugram

In a deeply disturbing case from Gurugram, 25-year-old Radhika Yadav, a talented tennis player, lost her life after being allegedly shot by her father. The shocking incident happened on Thursday at the family's home in Sushant Lok, Phase 2.

Dispute Over Social Media Post Turns Deadly

According to early reports, a disagreement between Radhika and her father escalated quickly after she posted a video reel on Instagram. The argument reportedly became heated, leading her father to use his licensed revolver to fire three shots at her. The shooting took place around 10:30 in the morning on the first floor of their home located in Sector 57.

Family Tried to Save Her

After the shooting, family members rushed Radhika to a nearby private hospital in hopes of saving her. Sadly, despite efforts by doctors, she died from her injuries while being treated.

Radhika’s Career and Background

Radhika Yadav was not just any ordinary athlete. According to the sports website tenniskhelo.com, Radhika had reached an International Tennis Federation (ITF) doubles ranking of 113. Born on March 23, 2000, she was once ranked among the top 200 in ITF doubles. Her bright and promising tennis journey came to a heartbreaking end.

Police Begin Investigation

Authorities have taken quick action following the crime. Sandeep Kumar, the public relations officer for Gurugram Police, confirmed that the licensed firearm used in the incident has been recovered from the scene.  We were informed by the hospital about a woman admitted with gunshot injuries. Sadly, she was already deceased when we reached the scene," he stated.

He added that statements taken from family members confirmed the father’s role in the incident. While a full investigation is ongoing, initial evidence points to the social media post as the reason for the tragic argument.
