Ramayana (X)
New Delhi: Ramayana 3 Update: 'Ramayana' is not only this year's most anticipated film, but also the most expensive film in Indian cinema in terms of budget. Ranbir Kapoor will be seen playing the role of Lord Rama, while Sai Pallavi will be seen playing the role of Mother Sita, and Yash will be seen playing the role of Ravana. Amidst all this, Namit Malhotra has also made extensive preparations for the film on a global level.
The film, which is releasing on November 5th, has already premiered in LA. The initial reviews that came in were overwhelming. Even before the film's release, it was reported that the sequel had been postponed to 2028. But are the producers planning a third part?
During the recent Los Angeles premiere, Namit Malhotra spoke to international media. Malhotra stated that the original plan was to have three parts for the film, but the creative approach later changed. He also left room for the possibility of adding more parts once it reaches audiences.
Namit Malhotra said, "So we started the film, we were going to make it in three parts. Then we decided to make it in two. We're still in the middle of shooting, so you know, I'm not going to give any spoilers for anything. But you know, who knows, once we get all the responses and all the feedback, we can sit back down at the table and the drawing board and see if there's anything else we want to add or subtract. It depends on how the world accepts it."
Namit Malhotra also spoke about the different versions of Ramayana. He says, "We have two different versions of the same film, each with a different runtime. That means there are two versions of 'Part 1'. Now, it will depend on the feedback we receive as to what to do next. My only wish is that we don't have to make two different versions. I'm sure Nitesh would also like to have only one version for the whole world."
