New Delhi: In a setback to the Tamil Film industry, veteran Producer KP Chowdary passed away after committing suicide in Goa. According to media reports, he was going through financial difficulties, this is why he tried to commit suicide. He was known for releasing the Telugu version of Rajinikanth's "Kabali," was found dead by suicide in Goa on Monday, February 3, 2025. Reports suggest that financial difficulties and legal troubles may have contributed to his decision.

In June 2023, Chowdary was arrested by the Cyberabad Police in connection with a drugs case, where authorities seized 90 sachets of cocaine from him. Following his arrest, he faced significant financial challenges and pressure from lenders. He later moved to Goa and established the OHM Club, where he reportedly developed associations with various individuals, including celebrities from Hyderabad.

He holds a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering

Chowdary hailed from Bonakal mandal in Khammam district and held a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering. Before entering the film industry, he served as the Director of Operations at the Indian Institute of Aeronautical Engineering and Technology in Pune. Despite his efforts in film production and distribution, he did not achieve the anticipated success, leading to financial setbacks.

Reports: He was facing financial and legal troubles

Authorities have informed his family about his death, and further investigations are underway.KP Chowdary was not the producer of Kabali but was involved in releasing the Telugu version of the film. The actual producer of Kabali (2016) was Kalaipuli S. Thanu. Chowdary was known for film distribution and had financial and legal troubles in recent years.
