New Delhi: NTA's CUET UG 2026 exam has started today from 11th May. Until May 31, this examination will be conducted through a computer at different centres in the country and abroad. This year around 15.68 lakh students have registered. If you are one of them, then it is very important to know some important things before going to the examination centre; otherwise it can be difficult.

What documents need to be taken to the examination centre?

Canditates will not be allowed inside without proper documents. They have to carry the printed admit card, self-declaration form, valid photo ID and passport-size photograph affixed in the application form. They can also carry a transparent water bottle and a transparent ballpoint pen. Students who are suffering from diabetes are allowed to carry fruits or sugar tablets.

What advice has NTA given regarding the dress code?

Wear light and comfortable clothes — that's what NTA advises. Avoid heavy clothes and full sleeve dresses. Earlier there was a lot of strictness regarding shoes but this time relief has been given. You can go wearing normal shoes, slippers or low heel footwear. Stay away from dresses with big buttons and clothes with too many chains.

Will wearing religious clothes and art be allowed?

Yes, it is allowed. You can wear religious threads like Kalava and also clothes related to religious faith. But such students will have to reach the centre before the scheduled time because they will have a separate security check.

Which things will be completely banned?

Students cannot take jewellery, anything metal, smartwatches, belts, sunglasses, and any electronic devices — all these items are prohibited. Students have to leave them at home; it was strictly ordered that the students not make the mistake of bringing them with them.

By what time is it necessary to reach the examination centre?

Reach the centre at least two hours before the commencement of the examination. No one will be allowed entry after the gate is closed. NTA has made this very clear. Traffic and security checks may take time, so leave home early and do not wait for the last minute.
