Donald Trump Again Claims He Stopped India-Pakistan War: In a major update, the US President Donald Trump has once again talked about his role in averting a potential war between India and Pakistan. Donald Trump has yet again claimed credit for stopping the war between India and Pakistan. He added that he used the warning of steep trade tariffs to avert the war between the two nuclear-armed nation from ''going at it.''
Donald Trump, while talking to Fox News, said his administration used the economic pressure to stop war between India and Pakistan after India's Operation Sindoor was launched in May, by Indian army in retaliation for April 22 Pahalgam terror attack.
Speaking about the same, US Donald Trump said, "They were going at it — seven planes were shot down. That's a lot. And they were going at it. That could have been a nuclear war." Trump added that his trade threats "settled the war."
He further said, "I said to India and Pakistan pretty much the same thing: 'Look, if you're going to fight each other, I'm not going to do business with you. We're going to put on a 200 per cent tariff.'' He added, ''It'll make it impossible for you to do business'."
Earlier, also Trump has claimed several times of "ending... eight wars," five of them "because of tariffs."
Meanwhile, India has always denied Trump's repeated claims of mediation.
