11 Pakistani soldiers killed during anti-militancy ops in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (X/TIN)
Pakistani soldiers killed: In a breaking update, as many as eleven Pakistani soldiers have been killed during anti-militancy operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has paid homage to the soldiers and extended condolences to the families of deceased.
Notably, the operation was carried out in Orakzai district, which is the border area of Afghanistan, after the reports of the presence of terrorists group "Fitna al-Khawarij" on the night of October 7-8, as per the military’s media wing. Notably, the Fitna al-Khawarij is used to describe the banned TTP terror organisation.
As per the reports, Pakistani military’s Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) stated that as many as 19 militants were killed during the firing due to what it called “effective engagement” by Pakistani troops.
Notably, in a statement, the Pakistani Taliban claimed responsibility for attacking troops in Orakzai.
Reportedly, the deceased soldiers were identified as Naib Subedar Azam Gul (38), Naik Gul Ameer (34), Naik Adil Hussain (35), Lance Naik Sher Khan (31), Lance Naik Irshad Hussain (32), Sepoy Tufail Khan (28), Lance Naik Talish Faraz (32), Sepoy Aqib Ali (23) and Sepoy Muhammad Zahid (24).
After the incident, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the army for killing militants and paid homage to the troops who lost their lives.
