Officials stated that this heinous crime was linked to a drug gang. The live broadcast on Instagram was viewed by 45 members of a private account.

Reaction from the victim's family

Brenda's father Lionel del Castillo told reporters that the safety of women has now become more important than ever. He also said that he could not identify her body due to misbehavior with his daughter.

Branda's 20 -year -old cousin and sisters' grandfather Antonio del Castillo cried and called the killers "blood thirsty". He said, "You will not do this with an animal. I hope the truth will be revealed. I urge people to stand with us."

Five Suspects Arrested

On Friday, National Security Minister Patricia Bullrich announced the arrest of a fifth suspect in the case. A total of three men and two women have been arrested so far. The fifth suspect is accused of providing logistics by car. He was arrested in Villazon, a border town with Bolivia.
