Hiroshima Survivors Praise PM Modi for Global Peace Efforts: Survivors of the Hiroshima atomic bombing have praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi's active efforts towards world peace. The Japanese NGO Peace Culture Village issued a citation in his honor.
The citation was signed by Toshiko Tanaka and Kenta Sumioka and was handed over to the convenor of the Indian Minority Federation. The letter praised Prime Minister Modi's efforts to promote peace and he was described as a strong leader of peace globally.
The citation stated that Prime Minister Modi's leadership confirms that humanity's greatest strength lies in collective responsibility for dialogue, cooperation and nuclear weapons -free future. It also highlighted India's restraint policies.
At that time in Hiroshima, Toshiko Tanaka was six years old. While sharing her experience, she said, "I suffered the horrors of this tragedy and today dedicated my life to the world so that we should destroy weapons of collective destruction. In the bombing, I lost all my school friends, and I was the one who survived.
Many victims remain unaccounted for even today." Tanaka also praised Prime Minister Modi for his stance on restraint and peace regarding nuclear weapons.
