Unidentified American Aircraft Lands in Bangladesh After Flying Over India, Raises Questions About Its Mission (Open AI)
Dhaka: The landing of a mysterious plane at Shah Amanat International Airport in Chittagong, Bangladesh has raised many questions. According to the report, on the night of October 17, a Beechcraft King Air B200 aircraft took off from Lahore, Pakistan and reached Chittagong. The special thing was that some time after the plane landed, a helicopter of Bangladesh Air Force also landed there. Information related to the identity and registration of the aircraft was not available in the initial tracking information. Later reports revealed its call sign to be N63LB. However, answers to many questions regarding the flight of the plane and its purpose are still not clear.
The nine-seat twin-turboprop aircraft landed at Shah Amanat International Airport in Chittagong at around 9:50 pm on October 17, North East News reported. Earlier it had taken off from Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore, Pakistan and passed through Indian airspace.
According to the report, when the plane was in Indian airspace around Bihar, its pilot contacted the air traffic control of Chittagong Airport on radio. After this he was given necessary information related to reaching the airport. However, no specific purpose behind the flight of the aircraft has been officially confirmed.
The second question in this case is regarding the landing of the helicopter of Bangladesh Air Force. According to the report, about 40 minutes after the mysterious plane landed, an Air Force helicopter also reached the area. It was told that the helicopter landed at the nearby Zaharul Haq airbase after being in the air for about 40 minutes.
According to information from Flightradar24, the helicopter's call sign was MI748. However, no official confirmation of any connection between the activities of the two aircraft has emerged. It would not be appropriate to consider both the incidents as part of the same mission merely on the basis of time difference.
According to the report, early tracking information of the aircraft showed the Beechcraft King Air B200 model and BE20 type code. Some details related to its registration and identification of the flight were not available. The aircraft's barometric altitude was recorded on the tracking panel as approximately 2,275 feet and its ground speed as 227 knots.
Later reports gave the aircraft's call sign as N63LB. Due to lack of identification details in the initial information, questions were raised about the owner of the plane and the people on board.
Quoting sources associated with Chittagong airport, the report claimed that there were no passengers on the plane except the pilot. The plane had stopped there for refuelling and was then scheduled to take off for Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
At present, independent confirmation of all aspects of the aircraft's journey, its operator and the purpose of the flight is not available. Therefore, this incident can definitely be called mysterious, but concrete evidence is necessary to link it to any secret operation or military activity.
