The attack took place when famous American conservative activist, podcast host and radio commentator Charlie Kirk was speaking on stage at a public event. Authorities said the search is still on for the suspected attacker, who appears to be college-aged and fled to a nearby neighborhood after the incident.
The tragic incident took place on the Utah Valley University campus, where Kirk was giving a speech in front of about 3,000 spectators at a public outdoor event called Prove Me Wrong. Meanwhile, the shooter opened fire from a rooftop and then fled the scene.
