US Police Shoot Woman in Chicago: Law enforcement officers in Chicago, US, were attacked. Around 10 vehicles rammed and surrounded them. During this time, American federal agents injured a woman by firing defensive bullets. The incident took place amid growing anti -ICE protests and efforts to reduce unrest in the Democratic -led cities of the Trump government.

Details of the incident

According to federal agents, officers were surrounded on Chicago's South Side. DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said that at least 10 cars rammed and surrounded the officers. While exiting the vehicle, officers had to take defensive action against an armed citizen armed with a semi-automatic weapon.

Condition of the injured woman

The injured woman's name has not been made public yet. McLaglin said that the woman's name was recorded in an intelligence bulletin last week.  As of Saturday, her condition was not stable.

US Department of Homeland Security Response

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said the attack was serious and additional forces were dispatched to the scene. He urged people to thank any law enforcement officers they encounter.

Chicago Police Action

The Chicago police said they reached the spot to investigate the incident and ensure security in the area. Police took action on receiving information about a bullet on the 3900 block of S Kedzi Avenue. However, the police are not directly involved in this investigation.
