Three people were shot in Dallas: An unidentified man opened fire on three people at the Immigration and US Customs Enforcement (ICE) office in Dallas, USA on Wednesday. According to officials, the attacker shot himself, causing his death. The AP reported that security measures were increased immediately after the incident and the surrounding area was cordoned off.
Acting ICE Director Todd Lyons confirmed the incident in an interview. He said the cause of the incident was not yet clear. Several emergency vehicles were stationed near a highway and security forces had cordoned off the area.
Prior to this incident, a second shooting occurred in Indianapolis on September 21st, killing two people and injuring five others. Indianapolis Metropolitan Police reported that the incident occurred around 2 a.m. in a parking lot near Shore Terrace. Upon arriving at the scene, police found five people suffering from gunshot wounds. Two of them died immediately, while three others were taken to the hospital.
Police also reported that two other individuals suspected of being involved in the shooting were injured at different locations. One was taken to a hospital and the other to a fire station. Further investigation is ongoing, and it is not yet clear what the motive of the attackers was or whether the two incidents are connected.
These incidents have once again highlighted the growing problem of gun violence in the United States. Security agencies are taking action to learn from these incidents and prevent similar incidents in the future.
