Washington: US President Donald Trump has postponed a possible military attack on Iran for the time being. Trump said that this decision has been taken in view of the appeal and ongoing talks of big leaders of Gulf countries. He clearly said that if no agreement is reached then America is ready to launch a major attack at any time.
Trump wrote on his social media Truth Social that the three big leaders of Qatar, Saudi Arabia and UAE told him the same thing: do not attack Iran. That means even the Gulf countries close to America are not in favour of this war.
Trump also said that negotiations with Iran are still going on and he still feels that a way can be found. Meaning the door is not completely closed yet.
The biggest issue is Iran's nuclear program. America wants Iran to not be able to make nuclear weapons. Trump said the purpose of the proposed agreement is clear: “Iran should not have nuclear weapons.”
Trump made it clear that the attack was only postponed, not completely cancelled. He has ordered the US Army to be ready for large-scale action at any time. Trump said that if agreement is not reached then America can attack immediately.
According to reports, Iran has sent a new proposal to America through Pakistan. However, American officials say that there are not many changes in it and it still does not meet America's expectations.
In recent days, Trump has also talked to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Chinese President Xi Jinping regarding the Iran war. It is clear from this that this matter is no longer limited to just America and Iran, but the entire world is keeping an eye on this tension.
The US Central Command i.e. CENTCOM has said that US sanctions are still strictly enforced on Iranian ports. The US has also instructed many commercial ships to change their routes so that the restrictions can be followed.
