Washington: US President Donald Trump has rejected reports that talks with Iran on the nuclear programme have broken down. Trump made it clear that talks are ongoing between the two countries and several rounds of discussions have taken place in recent days.
Writing on social media, Trump said that the news of halt in talks between America and Iran is completely wrong. According to him, talks took place between the two sides four days ago, three days ago, two days ago, yesterday and even today. Trump stressed that the doors are not closed.
The US presidentt said that now the time for compromise has come. According to Trump, the outcome of the talks is not yet decided, but Iran should reach a conclusion with America. He also added that the current situation cannot continue for long.
Trump spoke to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu amid increasing tension in the Middle East. Apart from this, he also contacted representatives associated with Hezbollah. Trump appealed to both sides to stop firing and stressed reducing tension in the area.
According to the report, Trump asked Netanyahu to avoid major military action. After this, there was a softening in some activities of the Israeli army. Trump wrote in his message, "Thank you Bibi". This is being considered a good sign towards reducing tension in the area.
Experts believe that this conversation is not limited to Iran's nuclear program only. It is also related to the security of the Middle East, stability of the region and economic interests of the world. If any agreement is reached then tension in the Gulf can reduce.
If both the countries agree then a new agreement on the nuclear dispute is possible. If things go wrong, conflict in the Middle East may escalate further. At present, it is clear from Trump's statement that the path of diplomacy is not completely closed yet.
