Imposing Tariffs on India is Justified: Zelensky Slams European Nations in Shocking Rebuke

International News: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has now given his reaction to the heavy tariffs imposed by US President Donald Trump on some countries including India. He supported Trump's decision and said that imposing tariffs on countries trading with Russia is a correct and necessary step. Zelensky clearly said that all the countries which are still trading with Russia—be it oil or gas—should be put under strict economic pressure. He also said that America needs to show more leadership in this direction.

Zelensky said: Imposing tariffs is the right step

In an interview to ABC News, Zelensky was asked that recently Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and Chinese President Xi Jinping were seen together at the SCO Summit. After this, Trump had said that America has lost India and Russia to China, and that is why he has imposed tariffs on India. Reacting to this, Zelensky said: "I think it is a very good idea to impose tariffs on countries which are trading with Russia."

European countries also cornered

In his statement, Zelensky also criticized many European countries that are still buying oil and gas from Russia. He said that it is morally wrong to maintain economic relations with Russia when Russia is constantly attacking Ukraine.

"We need to put more pressure on Putin. I am grateful to all European allies, but some countries are still buying energy from Russia—this is completely wrong. We should stop all kinds of purchases from Russia."

'Only Trump can stop Putin'

Zelensky also claimed that only Donald Trump can end all trade agreements with Russia. He said: "I am confident that Trump has the ability to take tough steps against Russia and stop Putin." This statement of Ukrainian President Zelensky has come at a time when the geopolitical equations between America, Europe and Asia are changing rapidly. There is already a debate going on regarding tariffs on India, and now Zelensky's support seems to give a new twist to Trump's policies.
