New Delhi: US President Donald Trump has formally launched the second phase of his 20-point peace plan to end the Gaza conflict. Under this, the White House has announced the formation of a “Board of Peace,” which will prepare an outline for strengthening the governance system in Gaza, reconstruction, attracting investment, and large-scale funding. The special thing is that the chairman of this board will be President Trump himself, and many influential names from America and globally have been included in it.
According to the White House, the main goal of this board is to restore stability in Gaza and lay the foundation for self-reliant governance. Under the plan, priority will be given to building governance capacity in Gaza, rebuilding institutional structures, and ensuring long-term peace. America believes that lasting peace is not possible without a strong administration and economic base.
Each executive member is given a clear scope of work. These include governance reforms, regional diplomacy, reconstruction, investment attraction, and management of large funds. The job of the board will not only be to make policy but also to implement it on the ground.
Trump has appointed Arie Lightstone and Josh Gruenbaum as senior advisors. Both of them will be responsible for the board's strategy, priorities, and international coordination. Their job will be to take the peace plan forward at the diplomatic and policy level.
This board includes many big names associated with American foreign policy and global diplomacy. Marco Rubio, Tony Blair, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner have been given important roles on the board. Apart from this, veterans like Ajay Banga, Mark Rowan, and Robert Gabriel have also been made members.
To further strengthen this structure, Nikolai Mladenov has been appointed “High Representative for Gaza.” Along with being an executive member of the board, he will take charge of administrative coordination in Gaza. Their role will be to build bridges between local institutions, international partners and funding agencies.
The most important step of the second phase of the peace plan is the formation of NCAG. This committee will work on the restoration of basic services, reconstruction of civilian institutions, and normalization of daily life in Gaza. The goal is for Gaza to gradually move toward self-reliant governance.
The International Stabilization Force has been created to ensure a stable and terror-free environment in Gaza. Major General Jasper Jeffers has been appointed the commander of this force. Their responsibilities will be to lead security operations, support disarmament, and ensure the safe delivery of humanitarian aid.
The US administration claims that this system will help prevent violence and instability. Efforts are being made to provide a security cover to reconstruction works and administrative reforms. The Trump administration is considering this as a decisive step towards long-term peace in Gaza.
