Gaza War Ceasefire: Trump’s 20-Point Peace Plan, Hamas Given 3-4 Days to Respond (File Image)
Gaza War Ceasefire : To end the ongoing conflict in Gaza, US President Donald Trump has presented a 20-point peace proposal, which has been supported by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Under this proposal, Hamas has now been given time to respond. Trump warned Hamas that they have three to four days to respond to the peace plan. He stated that if Hamas does not accept the plan, the consequences could be very dire. Speaking to reporters at the White House, Trump said, "Arab countries are ready, Muslim countries are ready, Israel is ready. Now it's up to Hamas. If they don't accept the plan, it will have a very tragic end."
The plan stipulates that Hamas surrender its weapons. In return, they are promised a ceasefire, humanitarian aid, and the reconstruction of Gaza. However, the proposal currently does not include any explicit guarantees of an independent Palestinian state. The proposal requires Hamas to release all its hostages within 72 hours. Furthermore, Hamas's surrender of its weapons and the gradual withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza are also part of the plan. Thus, the proposal not only ensures an immediate ceasefire but also provides for reconstruction and humanitarian assistance for the people of Gaza.
Trump stated that all other parties—Israel and Arab countries—have agreed to the peace proposal, and now only Hamas's response is awaited. He clarified that the consequences of rejecting the proposal would be serious and tragic. This White House initiative aims to end the long-standing violence in Gaza and ensure security and stability for its citizens. The proposal provides for a ceasefire, reconstruction of Gaza's infrastructure, and economic assistance.
This peace proposal is also considered significant internationally. The Trump administration is seeking a lasting solution through cooperation with all parties. Experts say this plan, while lacking a clear guarantee of a Palestinian state, represents a significant step forward as it increases the likelihood of an immediate halt to violence and a mitigation of the humanitarian crisis. Meanwhile, the world is watching Hamas's response. The coming three to four days will determine whether a major step toward peace will be taken in Gaza or the conflict will continue.
