IDF Seizes Hezbollah's Secret Drone Factory Hidden Within The Mountains; Shocking Images Emerge

Tel Aviv: Amid ongoing tensions in the Middle East, Israeli troops have discovered a large underground Hezbollah drone production facility hidden inside a mountain near the Israel border in southern Lebanon.

 According to 'The Times of Israel', this secret factory was used to assemble Iranian-made drone components and launch the drones toward Israel. Israeli military officials stated that this state-of-the-art facility was constructed over the past decade with direct support, funding, and technical cooperation from Iran.

A Massive Complex Hidden Within the Mountain? 

This underground complex is located beneath the village of Majdal Zoun, approximately six kilometers from the Israeli border. The Israeli military captured the area during a military operation in southern Lebanon earlier this month. While showing the site to observers, army spokespersons explained that the tunnel extends hundreds of meters into the mountain and reaches a depth of about 29 meters below ground. The facility was secured by large, blast-proof steel doors and built to significantly higher standards than other Hezbollah tunnels discovered previously.

Was Drone Assembly and Weaponry being done inside the Hezbollah facility? 

Soldiers found several rooms inside where drones were being assembled from smuggled parts. Israeli forces also recovered approximately 50 drones equipped with 30-kilogram explosive warheads. According to officials, these drones closely resemble those used in previous attacks on Israel. Their strike range was sufficient to hit targets across the entire country. A senior officer told the media that this is the first time the Israeli military has found such a fully fortified drone factory, providing significant intelligence regarding Hezbollah's capabilities.

How Did the Hezbollah Facility Target Israel? 

The military described the site as a hybrid between a drone factory and an "underground airbase." Special launch shafts were discovered in the southern section of the mountain, designed to be opened when needed. The commander of the IDF’s Yahalom combat engineering unit told reporters that the tunnel terminates in four exit points secured by blast-proof doors mounted on rails; these could be opened to easily launch UAVs (drones) toward Israel.
 The army reported the recovery of approximately eight tons of explosive material from within the facility. An official stated that these were the very drones capable of threatening Israel across its entire territory.

What happens next? 

According to the IDF, this site had previously bee

n targeted by Israeli airstrikes during the 2024 Israel-Hezbollah conflict, but Hezbollah had subsequently attempted to reactivate it. Israeli troops have now completed a thorough inspection and scan of the entire tunnel network. Following the investigation, the entire underground complex will be demolished. 
Notably, this discovery comes at a time when tensions and skirmishes persist along the border, despite the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hezbollah.
