International News: Direct flight services between India and China are being restored after a five-year hiatus, the government announced on Thursday. According to the Ministry of External Affairs, the two countries have agreed to resume direct flight services connecting major destinations in India and China from the end of October. Previously, during Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi's visit to India last month, it was also announced that direct flight services between the two countries would be resumed. This move is seen as a significant step towards stabilizing relations between the two countries.
Over the past year, India and China have taken several important decisions, including the disengagement of troops along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Depsang and Demchok by the end of 2024. Furthermore, both countries have held high-level diplomatic and military meetings to de-escalate border tensions and take steps to improve bilateral relations.
The resumption of direct flights will not only improve passenger convenience but also provide new impetus to trade and economic relations between the two countries. According to experts, this step will prove crucial in strengthening mutual trust and cooperation between India and China.
