New Delhi: India sent a clear warning to China during Wednesday’s press briefing, asserting that Arunachal Pradesh is an integral and inalienable part of India and no denial will alter this fact. MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said India strongly protested with Chinese authorities in both Beijing and New Delhi after the Arunachal-born Indian woman was mistreated at Shanghai Airport. He emphasized that peace and tranquility in the border areas remain essential prerequisites for sustained development in bilateral relations.
Since October 2024, both sides have been working to maintain stability in the border regions. Any arbitrary actions by China against Indian citizens negatively impact mutual trust. India made it clear such incidents hamper normalizing ties.
According to MEA, peace along the border is crucial for consistent progress between the two nations and this has always been India’s clear stance. It was reiterated that only when stability exists in border zones, people-centric development and cooperation can move forward. Any unilateral and inappropriate behavior from Chinese authorities contradicts ongoing efforts toward restoring confidence between both sides. India firmly stated that irrespective of repeated Chinese objections, the truth about Arunachal Pradesh remains unchanged. Regarding Pakistan’s remarks on the Ram Mandir flag-hoisting ceremony, the MEA dismissed them firmly. Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said Pakistan has no moral standing to lecture others, considering its history of extremism, oppression, and systematic mistreatment of minorities. He asserted that India rejects Pakistan’s statements in the exact tone they deserve. India advised Pakistan to look within and focus on its deteriorating human rights record instead of commenting on India’s cultural or religious matters. This response clearly targeted Pakistan's internal failures. It highlighted that interference in India's affairs is completely unacceptable.
On the extradition request involving former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, India confirmed having received the request. MEA stated the matter is currently under review as part of judicial and internal legal processes. India emphasized its commitment to the best interests of the Bangladeshi people, including peace, democracy, inclusion, and stability. It further clarified that discussions with all relevant stakeholders will continue. The response was carefully balanced to avoid unnecessary diplomatic stress.
