International News: During the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine, U.S. President Donald Trump is upset with India. He says India is buying oil from Russia and then selling it in the open market to earn profit. Trump has even talked about putting penalties on India.
Even though China is buying more oil from Russia than India, Trump has not said anything against China. His criticism is only focused on India.
At the same time, Ukraine has made a new claim. They say that some drones used by Russia in the war are made using electronic parts that were made or assembled in India. People familiar with the issue say that Ukraine has officially informed both the Indian government and the European Union (EU) about this.
According to some documents, two Indian companies are linked to the drone parts:
A voltage controller inside an Iranian-designed drone called Shahed had a bridge rectifier (model E300359) made by Vishay Intertechnology. The satellite system of the drone had a PLL-based signal chip (AU5426A) made by Aura Semiconductors. Experts say that, based on technical rules, these companies have not broken any Indian laws.
When asked about the issue, Indian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said, “India exports only after proper checks. We follow all international rules, especially about nuclear safety. Our system ensures that nothing is sent out illegally.”
India is now facing pressure from both the U.S. and Ukraine. While India says it follows all rules, these claims could bring more attention and questions from other countries.
