Amid the Iran-Israel war, Turkey has prepared to become a bigger mediator than Saudi Arabia. President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is constantly talking to different heads of state and showing readiness to resolve Iran's nuclear dispute. So far, the Turkish government has talked to 6 countries, including America, Russia, and Kuwait. Apart from this, Turkey's foreign minister has also arrived to participate in the Southeast European East Summit. It is believed that here too Turkey will reiterate its commitment to pacify Iran.

Turkey had mediated on many fronts during the Russia-Ukraine war. Apart from this, Turkey's mediation is also believed to have a hand in the ceasefire in Sudan. Now there is unrest in the Middle East; Iran and Israel are constantly attacking each other. Erdogan has told US President Donald Trump during this attack that the best way to end the nuclear conflict with Iran is through diplomacy.  Turkey is prepared to do everything in its power to achieve this.  Erdogan stated that urgent action is required to keep the Middle East from igniting in the second talk in two days.

Talks with Kuwait, Iraq and Oman

Apart from America, Turkish President Erdogan also talked to Kuwait's Emir Sheikh Meshaal Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah. According to Turkey's Communication Directorate, the conflict between Israel and Iran was discussed in this telephonic conversation. In the conversation, Erdogan said that Israel's attacks endanger regional security.

Erdogan also talked to Iraq's Prime Minister Mohammad Shia Al Sudani about Iran and Israel. Erdogan asked Iraq to stay away from this tension and said to be cautious in view of terrorist organisations. After this, the Turkish president talked to Oman's Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Taimur Al Said and discussed the unrest in the Middle East. According to Turkey's Communication Directorate, the action taken by Israel by attacking Iran has endangered regional security. The Middle East will not tolerate a new war under any circumstances.

Diplomatic Talks Held Between Russia-Britain

On the other hand, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan raised the issue of the Iran-Israel war in a conversation with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov. In this telephonic conversation, the growing tension in the Middle East and its global effects were discussed. Earlier, Fidan also spoke to British Foreign Secretary David Lammy and expressed concern that this war may take a bigger form. He stressed ending the conflict immediately and said that diplomatic efforts should be made to return to nuclear talks.

Turkey has played the mediator many times between Russia and Ukraine

Turkey has also played an important role many times during the Russia-Ukraine war. Immediately after the war started in March 2022, Turkey was the first to call the foreign ministers of Russia and Ukraine and start the talks. According to the ICWA report, after this, in September 2022, the exchange of prisoners between the two countries took place with the mediation of Turkey.

In October 2023, Turkey also proposed mediation in the conflict between Israel and Hamas. Apart from this, Turkey also offered mediation during the conflict in Sudan. In May this year too, Turkey has once again offered mediation in the war between Russia and Ukraine.
