World News: Iran launched a barrage of ballistic missiles at Israel on Tuesday, marking a dangerous escalation in the ongoing conflict between Israel and the Iran-backed militant groups Hezbollah and Hamas. With air raid sirens blaring across the country, Israeli civilians rushed to bomb shelters, while loud explosions echoed in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. Though it remains unclear if the blasts resulted from missile impacts or Israeli interceptions, there have been no immediate reports of casualties.

Videos circulating on social media show the devastation, with missile fragments and shrapnel striking populated areas, including Tel Aviv and other central locations. Impact sites have been reported near the Dead Sea, southern Israel, and the Sharon region. Sirens blared across Israel on Tuesday afternoon as the first wave of 102 missiles targeted central and southern parts of the country. According to Israeli defense officials, this marks Tehran's first direct assault on Israel since April. These ballistic missiles, capable of reaching Israel within 12 minutes, represent a serious threat to Israeli security..

Israel mobilizes civilans into shelters

In response to the attack, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) swiftly mobilized, urging civilians to remain in shelters as the rockets rained down. "All Israeli civilians are in bomb shelters as rockets from Iran are fired at Israel," the IDF confirmed in a statement released at 7:30 p.m. local time.

Iran took responsibility for the attack through a statement on state television, referring to the recent deaths of top Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah and other key figures, allegedly killed in Israeli airstrikes. The Iranian regime labeled the missile strike as the "first wave," signaling the potential for more attacks.

As the conflict intensifies, the Israeli military has begun limited ground operations against Hezbollah in southern Lebanon. Israeli airstrikes and artillery fire targeted Hezbollah strongholds, prompting a fierce response from the militant group. Meanwhile, the Israeli army continues to carry out localized raids, destroying Hezbollah tunnels and infrastructure.

US at the situation

President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris are closely monitoring the situation from the White House, with the US ready to provide military assistance to Israel if needed. Both nations have warned Iran of severe consequences should the missile attacks continue. Biden has also ordered an urgent meeting with national security advisers to address Iran’s missile attack on Israel. US has ordered the military to shoot down Iranian missiles. While Iraq has shut the airspace as well.
