A shocking news has surfaced from the United States where another Indian student has been found dead in the state of Ohio. The Indian Consulate in New York on Friday said that the police investigation is underway.

However, the cause of death is yet to be identified.

The Indian Consulate has assured of all the possible assistance to the family of the deceased student and promised them transportation of his mortal remains to India at the earliest.

Taking it to the official handle, the Indian Consulate in New York expressed grief on the death.

The episode has come during a period of rising Indian-origin student deaths in the United States. The family of an Indian student, 25, who went missing in the Cleveland, Ohio, area in March requested that the External Affairs Ministry locate their son after they received a "ransom call."

Hyderabadi native Mohammed Abdul Arafat left for the US in May 2023 to complete his master's degree in information technology at Cleveland University, but he hasn't been seen since March 7, 2024.

After 10 days, according to his father Mohd Saleem, they got a call claiming that their son Abdul Arafat had been abducted and that the kidnappers wanted a ransom of USD 1200.

A short while back, in a terrible, a distressing incident, an Indian student faced a brutal attack in Chicago in February this year.
