The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) initiated targeted ground operations in southern Lebanon on Tuesday, focusing on Hezbollah strongholds and infrastructure identified through precise intelligence. These localized raids, concentrated in villages near the border, aim to neutralize threats posed to Israeli communities in northern Israel.

In a post on X, the IDF stated, "In accordance with the decision of the political echelon, a few hours ago, the IDF began limited, localized, and targeted ground raids based on precise intelligence against Hezbollah terrorist targets and infrastructure in southern Lebanon." The targeted sites, located close to the border, pose an immediate threat to northern Israeli communities, according to the IDF.

The military emphasized that these operations are proceeding under a plan developed by the General Staff and Northern Command. "The IDF is operating according to a methodical plan set out by the General Staff and the Northern Command, which IDF soldiers have trained and prepared for in recent months," the statement read. Israeli ground forces are being supported by precise airstrikes and artillery to further weaken Hezbollah's military capabilities.

This operation, part of "Operation Northern Arrows," was approved by Israel’s political leadership and is running alongside other military efforts, including combating threats in Gaza. The IDF stated, "Operation Northern Arrows will continue according to the situational assessment and in parallel to combat in Gaza and other arenas."

In a separate precision strike earlier, the IDF dismantled a Hezbollah surface-to-air missile storage facility near Beirut's international airport, approximately 1.5 kilometers away. The IDF warned that the facility posed a significant threat to both Lebanese and international airspace. The military vowed to continue degrading Hezbollah's military capabilities in Lebanon.

These developments underscore the ongoing intensification of Israel's military operations on multiple fronts, as tensions escalate in the region.
