Iran: Israel and America together have launched a major attack on Iran, due to which tension in the Middle East is skyrocketing. The Israeli Air Force claims that it carried out heavy air strikes on many major military bases of Iran. Seven senior officers associated with Iran's defense system have been killed in these attacks.

What did Israel say?

The Israeli Army posted on its official X account that its fighter planes carried out precision strikes in Iran. Among them, famous officers like Ali Shamkhani, Mohammad Pakpur, Saleh Asadi, Mohammad Shirazi, Aziz Nasirzadeh, Hussein Jabal Amelian and Reza Muzaffari-Niya were killed. Israel is calling it a huge strategic victory, but these claims have not yet been confirmed by any independent source.

Which officers were killed?

• Ali Shamkhani: Former Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran, considered very close to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
• Mohammad Pakpur: Commander-in-Chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), a major planner of strategy against Israel.
• Aziz Nasirzadeh: Defense Minister of Iran.

The remaining officers were also associated with military intelligence and strategic units.

What is the name and scale of operation?

This attack is a big campaign started from 28 February 2026. Israel named it "Operation Roaring Lion", while the US called it "Operation Epic Fury". According to reports, about 200 Israeli fighter jets attacked more than 500 targets, which included missile launch sites, air defense systems and ballistic missile bases. This is being said to be the biggest operation in the history of the Israeli Air Force.
