International News: A rally of Khalistan supporters in Vancouver, Canada, turned controversial when renowned investigative journalist Mocha Bezirgan was surrounded by the mob. He was videographing and photographing this rally when some violent people blocked his way, tried to snatch the phone, and threatened him. Bezirgan shared his feelings on social media after this incident happened. He said that, "I'm still shaken. They surrounded me and tried to intimidate me into silence."

Tributes to Gandhi’s assassins, ominous warnings for Modi

Bezirgan claims that several Khalistan supporters at the rally were openly glorifying the assassins of former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Some people called themselves the 'heirs' of those killers and even said that they intend to 'end the politics' of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Bezirgan asked, "Will you finish Modi in the same way as Indira Gandhi's politics were ended?" What followed was even more disturbing.

Questions on the role of Sikhs for Justice and WSO

The journalist also revealed that the rally was organized by an organization called 'Sikhs for Justice' (SFJ), which has been involved in anti-India activities in the past. He said that the same faces are often seen in such events - from Ontario to New York and London. Apart from this, he also pointed fingers at the 'World Sikh Organization' (WSO), which gives political patronage to such acts.

Direct attack on freedom of press

This incident was not just an attack on a person, but it was a direct attack on the freedom of journalism. Mocha Bezirgan called it a dangerous sign for democracy. He said, "Those who talk about freedom are themselves bent on crushing protests and questions. These people no longer just raise slogans but have made violence a 'liberation struggle."

Bezirgan said, I will not be afraid; I will keep writing the truth

Despite the incident, Bezirgan did not lose courage. He clearly said that he is not going to be afraid of threats and will continue his reporting. “If I remain silent today, tomorrow some other journalist will be attacked,” he said bluntly.
