Israel: Amidst the ongoing tension in the Middle East, important information related to Israel's intelligence agency Mossad has come to light. The death of an agent associated with “Operation Roaring Lion” has been revealed by the agency chief himself. This revelation has thrown new light on the secret actions going on against Iran and has also shown how big a game is going on behind the scenes in this conflict.
The Mossad chief did not reveal the name of the agent in his statement and referred to him only as “M”. However, Israeli media reports identified him as 50-year-old Erez Shimoni.
It is reported that this agent played an important role in the preparation of “Operation Roaring Lion”. The work done under his leadership strengthened the campaign against Iran and laid the foundation for many strategic steps.
According to reports, this agent died in 2023 in a boat capsizing incident in Lake Maggiore, Italy. At that time he was reportedly involved in a secret meeting in which Israeli and Italian intelligence officers were present.
Although the agency did not share much information officially, there were indications that he was killed in the line of duty. The Mossad chief said he lost his life while working for the country and his contribution will not be forgotten.
This operation is believed to be a major military and intelligence operation that started in February 2026, in which Israel and America together took action against Iran. The campaign involved covert operations, technical tactics and espionage activities.
Such disclosures are generally rare, as intelligence agencies keep the identities of their agents secret. In such a situation, the emergence of this information indicates that the scope and importance of the operation was quite large.
Experts believe that such news can further increase the tension between the two countries. There is already covert and overt conflict between the two countries, and such revelations could further deepen that tension.
