Nepal PM Sushila Karki expands cabinet; four ministers take oath 

The four members added to the Council of Ministers are former Justice Anil Kumar Sinha, Magsaysay winner Mahabir Pun, Samata Foundation chairperson Madan Pariyar, and TV anchor Jagdish Kharel.

Nepal PM Sushila Karki expands cabinet; four ministers take oath  (X/TIN)

Nepal PM's cabinet expansion: The newly appointed Nepal's interim PM Sushula Karki on Monday expanded her cabinet. She added four members to the Council of Ministers. The decision was taken after she was sworn in as the interim prime minister of Nepal, after KP Sharma Oli's resignation following the Gen-Z protest. 

The four members added to the Council of Ministers are namely former Justice Anil Kumar Sinha, Magsaysay winner Mahabir Pun, Samata Foundation chairperson Madan Pariyar, and TV anchor Jagdish Kharel.  

Nepal's cabinet: Who gets what?

As per the reports of news agency ANI, Anil Kumar Sinha will hold the charge of Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supply; Law and Justice; and Land Reforms, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation. Meanwhile, Mahabir Pun has been given the responsibility of education, and science and technology department. Pariyar has been given the charge of agriculture department, while Kharel was made the information and communications minister.

Notably, former Chief Justice Sushila Karki was appointed as the interim PM of Nepal on September 12. She was appointed as the interim PM of Nepal after after a lots of ploitical turmoil in the country due to the following youth-led Gen Z protests against his government over social media ban. 

Gen-Z group's new demand

The Gen Z group have now stated two more demands- including the arrest of former prime minister K P Sharma Oli as well as then home minister Ramesh Lekhak. Protestors stated their alleged role in a shootout that killed 19 people during the Gen-Z protest.
