Israel Hamas Ceasefire: Hamas has once again betrayed Israel amid the ongoing ceasefire in Gaza. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu himself has revealed this. PM Netanyahu has said that the remains of a hostage returned by Hamas are body parts of a hostage recovered by Israeli soldiers in Gaza almost 2 years ago. Netanyahu has described the return of body parts as a clear violation by Hamas of the US-brokered ceasefire agreement.

What did Hamas say?

The bodies of 13 hostages are still held in Gaza, and the slow recovery of those remains is posing a challenge to implementing the next steps of the ceasefire. Hamas has said it is struggling to locate the bodies amid massive destruction in Gaza, while Israel has accused the terror group of deliberately delaying the return of the bodies.

What did Hamas do before?

It should be noted that recently, under the Gaza Pisa Plan, Hamas returned the bodies of four dead hostages to Israel. Hamas also betrayed Israel during this period, which was revealed. One of the bodies returned by Hamas was not that of an Israeli hostage. The body sent as an Israeli hostage was actually that of a Gaza resident.

Know the handiwork of Hamas

This isn't the first time Hamas has engaged in such activities before. According to a report in the Times of Israel, earlier this year, Hamas handed over a body to Israel. Hamas claimed the body was that of slain hostage Shiri Bibes. An investigation revealed the body belonged to a Palestinian citizen from Gaza. Hamas subsequently handed over Bibes's actual remains to Israel.

Many issues are still unresolved

Currently, a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas holds, but several complex issues remain unresolved. The return of the bodies of those killed while in captivity remains uncertain. Israel is now awaiting Hamas' return of the bodies or remains of hostages believed to be dead in Gaza.
