World News: The winner of the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize is scheduled to be announced today, Friday, but US President Donald Trump has already stated that he should receive the honor.

On Thursday, the White House shared a photo of Trump on social media, with the caption “President of Peace.” This post is believed to be part of Trump's campaign in which he is presenting himself as a worthy candidate for the world's most prestigious peace prize.

Trump said, "I have made seven peace agreements."

Trump claimed that he has made peace agreements between seven countries during his tenure, including the one between India and Pakistan. He said, “I am confident that the Nobel Committee will definitely find some reason or other to avoid giving me this honor.”

Nominated Multiple Times

During both his terms in office, Trump has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize multiple times. This year, he has been nominated by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet, US lawmakers, and the Pakistani government.

Only four US presidents have received this honor.

So far in history, only four American presidents and one vice president have received the Nobel Peace Prize.

  • Theodore Roosevelt (1906): Mediated the Treaty of Portsmouth to end the Russo-Japanese War.
  • Woodrow Wilson (1919): Honored for playing an important role in the establishment of the League of Nations after the First World War.
  • Jimmy Carter (2002): He received this award two decades after leaving office for his efforts to peacefully resolve international conflicts and promote human rights.
  • Barack Obama (2009): Honored for his efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and global cooperation in his first year of office.
  • Al Gore (2007): The only Vice President of the United States to receive this award. He was awarded jointly with the IPCC for spreading awareness on climate change.

This year Trump's name is once again in discussion. He says he has played a role in restoring peace on many fronts, from the Middle East to South Asia. All eyes are now on whether the Nobel Committee will recognize his views.
