Islamabad: The situation on the border between Pakistan and Afghanistan is continuously worsening. For the last one week, firing and attacks have been taking place between the armies of the two countries at different places. Clashes took place at many places on Friday also.

The United Nations says that this conflict has had the greatest impact on the common people. More than one lakh people living around the border have left their homes and moved to safer places.

Why did tension suddenly increase on the border?

In recent times, allegations and counter-allegations have intensified between the two countries. Afghanistan says it targeted Pakistan's border posts and some military bases. Pakistan claims that in retaliation it has carried out air strikes on Taliban-linked targets.
