Earthquake in Pakistan: An earthquake struck Pakistan's capital, Islamabad, early Saturday morning. According to the National Seismological Centre, the quake, which struck at 01:59 am IST, measured 4.5 on the Richter scale. The epicenter was approximately 10 kilometers below the surface. No damage or casualties have been reported.
Earlier, on 2 October, an earthquake of 3.2 magnitude was recorded in Karachi. According to PMD, the earthquake center was 7 kilometers north-west from Malir and its depth was 10 kilometers. The tremors of continuous earthquake have increased the panic among the people.
Earlier, an earthquake of 6.2 magnitude was felt in Afghanistan and Pakistan on 4 September. Its center was 14 km east of Jalalabad and a depth of 10 km. At the same time, earthquake tremors were also felt in the northern parts of Pakistan on 25 August, including Islamabad, Rawalpindi and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Due to these tremors, people came out of their homes.
Constant earthquake tremors have been recorded in Pakistan in the last weeks. According to earthquake experts, the region is extremely sensitive to earthquakes due to Indian and Eurasian plates being located at the junction.
